M A N I F E S T I N G

June 17 - July 27, 2021

Opening with the artist: June 19, 2-4pm

Sarah Shepard Gallery is pleased to present its second solo exhibition with painter Serena Mitnik-Miller, featuring new paintings in her iconic earth tones, elemental blues and gray tones. For her latest body of work, the relationships between the color choices in her interlocking concentric shapes are pushing in new, compelling and inspired directions. The compositions are occupying more space on the paper and a square format has been introduced in a new larger scale. Working in her studio filled with Southern California light, Mitnik-Miller’s artistic practice is process oriented and guided by a meditative spirit.

The title of the exhibition, M A N I F E S T I N G, speaks to the energy driving this present moment we are living in, for both the artist and communities at large, as we emerge from this last year, rediscover ourselves and choose our paths forward.
