Stop by Copperfield’s for a meet and greet with C.V. Monterrubio, bilingual author of The Moon Garden: The Lunar Garden.
The Moon Garden
Follow the story of Paulo, a boy who learns to sow with the moon and harvest his own food in a greenhouse inside a retirement home for the elderly, and forges a friendship with an old lady. Values contained in the narrative: emotional healing, intergenerational friendship, empathy, love for others, living in the present moment.
Author: C.V. Monterrubio is a bilingual author of books for children (and girls) and a writer of short stories, poems and letters. Born in Mexico City, she has already lived for some years in the bay of northern California with her husband and her dog. She is usually labeled as a cis, mestizo, neurodivergent, Mexican and Chilanga woman by birth (and conviction), although Oaxaca and Juaritos-El Paso are also her home. She enjoys reading since she was a child, and she is grateful that her mother, father and maternal grandfather always provided her with books. He loves large libraries and book stores, and prefers paper to digital ones, although he enjoys producing his audiobooks. He created his first stories and characters at the age of six, and his first poem was written at the age of thirteen. Believe in respect as a universal rule and in the golden rule. She writes, thinks and shouts in Spanish and English from a young age.
